Once again the news outlets are floating the canard that consumers need to wait to get a 4G iPad or iPad 2. Nonsense. I've been using a 4G iPad for nearly a year. My apps respond magically fast and videos stream like a wired connection (which I have severed entirely).
Here's how it works. I use a 4G wireless hotspot device, in my case a Samsung LC-11 or Verizon Jetpack™ 4G LTE running on Verizon's 4G LTE network.
My iPad is the original 64GB WiFi only model, purchased at release time in the spring of 2010.
The SpeedTest.net app on my iPad tells me the Ping takes 83ms, Download speed is currently 12.42Mbps and Upload is 7.74Mbps.
That certainly makes it a 4G iPad in my hands today, not next month.
